       Boomerang Tracking Installation Manual                     Boomerang Tracking Corporation Proprietary - Restricted Solely for those Individuals with a need-to-know pursuant to Company instructions     An essential part of the success of the Boomerang Tracking Device is the installation. The unit must be fully concealed within the vehicle and integrated with the look and feel of the factory wiring. Tape all wires with factory matching tape and incorporate them into the factory wiring.    •       Park the vehicle in a secured area away from the customer or any non-certified installation members ••••       Find a location in the front portion of the drivers compartment that will fully conceal the device o    Note – do not mount the unit under the drivers side dash or behind the radio o     Note – the position of the unit is not critical •       Locate a source of constant 12V+ nearby o        Note – be aware that some 12V+ wires may test constant, but will switch off when the vehicle’s BCM shuts down. Test thoroughly. If in doubt, consult the vehicle’s factory service manual schematics. Crimp the fuse holder to the end of the red wire and solder the other end of the fuse holder to the source of constant 12V+ •       Find a source of ground o        Note – a factory bolt is preferred. Remove the bolt, clean the surface, and attach the ground wire via a crimped ring terminal under the factory bolt ••••       Position the antennas at least 1” from any metal surface ensuring that they remain concealed  ••••       Insert the 1-amp fuse into the fuse holder  ••••       Affix the unit to the vehicle securely using screws, wire ties or butyl-based sealant o        Note – be very careful not to cause any rattles or    squeaks •       Put the transponder on the customer’s key ring ••••      Reassemble the vehicle    Fig. 1 – Installation Schematics      Compliance Statement ( Part 15.19 ) This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules Operation is subject to the following two conditions:  1. RF Exposure ( OET Bulletin 65 ) To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements for mobile transmitting devices, this transmitter should only be used or installed at locations where there is at least 20cm separation distance between the antenna and all persons.
