This will provide better radio performance at the expense of a lower effective over-the-air bit rate. 8B/10B line coding is a method that encodes a symbol of 8 bits in to a 10 bit symbol and ensures that on average there is an even number over 1’s and 0’s and a minimum number of transitions.
