Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. RF Exposure Requirements: The antenna used for the transmitter must not be connected to, or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Vehicle Antenna Installation: - The Antennas used for this transmitter must not exceed 3dBi of gain with a minimum cable loss of 2.9dB. - For vehicle antenna placement, the antenna must be located at least 20cm away from the rear-seat passengers and by standers in order to comply with the FCC RF exposure requirements. Failure to observe these requirements will result in exceeding the FCC RF exposure limits. 2 7
Installation Procedures – Cont’ Indoor Setup 1. Decide on a suitable place for installing the booster. It is advisable to have as close as possible to the mobile phone. 2. Connect the antenna (1) to the booster (3) connector marked “antenna”. Locate antenna at least 20cm from nearby persons. 3. Connect the signal lead (4) to the booster (3) marked “signal adapter”. Connect the signal adapter (4) to the cell phone adapter. 4. Connect the optional power transformer (2) then switch on. 5. The signal will take about 5-10 seconds to be amplified and will be increased gradually. This poor reception may be the result of distance from the nearest cell tower or the presence of obstructions between the cell tower the receiving device. If after turning on the booster and waiting 5-10 seconds, there is no signal increase shown on the indicator, check the following: 1) The power LED on the booster is on. 2) All connectors are connected properly and secure. 3) Relocate the antenna. • Can improve reception of any device on the mobile network. 6 3
Installation Procedures In vehicle Setup (Direct Connect) Tip! The External antenna port is usually located behind a rubber stopper at the back of your phone near the antenna. A. Firstly install your antenna. (1) B. Route the cable to inside the vehicle and connect to the booster (3) socket marked “antenna”. C. Connect the signal lead (4) to the booster (3) marked “signal adapter”. D. Connect the signal adapter (4) to the cell phone adapter. E. Plug the power cable into the booster (3) power input and the other end (5) into the cigarette socket of the vehicle. The signal will take about 5-10 seconds to be amplified and will be increased gradually. Installation Procedures – Cont’ In vehicle Setup (Hands Free Kit) A. Firstly install your antenna and HFK. B. Route the cable to inside the vehicle and connect to the booster (3) socket marked “antenna”. C. Connect the HFK cable (1) to the booster (3) marked signal adapter. D. Plug the power cable into the booster (3) power input and the other end (5) into the cigarette socket of the vehicle. E. Turn on the switch. The signal will take about 5-10 seconds to be amplified and will be increased gradually. Installation Tip! • Magnetic mount antennas need to be placed on a metal surface at least 5-8” sq. for the system to perform well. • You may use the 3ft signal lead supplied with your booster to mate between the HFK and the booster. 5
