IINTRODUCTIONNSTALLATIONThe UX300 FM Transmitter is a USB device intended to transmit audio from yourdesktop computer or notebook to nearby FM radios all over your home or officewithout cables or wires.The UX300 appears as a sound card to your computer and any audio produced bythe computer will be transmitted over the USB connection to the transmitter forreception on any standard FM radio. Power for the UX300 is provided through theUSB port and therefore there are no batteries required.The UX300 offers a choice of 7 frequencies selectable though an easy to changeDIP switch. The frequency is PLL (Phase-Locked-Loop) synthesized for high-quality stereo reception. It also offers a stereo audio output jack so that youcontinue to listen to the audio on your existing speakers at the same time as thetransmitter is connected to the computer.Make sure your computer is turned on and has finished starting the operatingsystem. Then connect one end of the USB cable to a free USB port on yourcomputer and the other end to the USB port on the transmitter. Make sure ofthe correct orientation of the cable.The Ux300 is a truly plug-and-play device and is simplyconnected to your computer via the supplied USB cable. 3.4.5.6.Once the transmitter has been fully recognized by the operating system the“On Air” LED on the transmitter will light up indicating the transmitter hasbeen successfully detected and is now operational.You can now set the transmitting frequency by setting the “FREQ” DIP switchon the transmitter according to the following diagram. You should choose afrequency on which no other commercial station is broadcasting.Open your favorite music playback application and play something in order totest the transmitter. Make sure the volume level on your computer is set toaround medium.Extend the UX300 antenna fully and put it in the upright position. Now tuneany nearby FM radio to the frequency selected and listen to the audio. Youshould adjust the volume level on the computer so that you have a distortionfree reception. Setting the computer volume too high may distort thetransmitted signal.Note that when the UX300 is connected to your computer it will become yourprimary sound card and all audio played back will go to the UX300.
