![Press <SELECT> again to toggle the parameter between ON & OFF. SET BASE RINGER MODE Base ringer mode is used to activate the base ringer during incoming call such that the user can identify there has an incoming call or not. This function is activated by setting the parameter to ON. Set BASE RINGER procedure: Press <MENU> until F: 'Set Base Ringer' is heard to enter this mode. Pressing <SELECT>, the current parameter setting will be announced by the voice prompt. Press <SELECT> again to toggle the parameter between ON & OFF. SET NUMBER OF RINGS MODE The ITAD has 4 ring type settings: 2 rings The incoming call is answered after 2 rings. 4 rings The incoming call is answered after 4 rings. 6 rings The incoming call is answered after 6 rings. Toll Saver The incoming call is answered after 2 rings only if there are new messages/memos present in memory, otherwise, answers call after 4 rings. Thus, if Toll Saver is active and your ITAD rings 3 times when you call, you can hang-up to avoid any long distance charges. Set NUMBER OF RINGS procedure: Press <MENU> until F: 'Set Number of Rings' is heard to enter this mode. Pressing <SELECT>, the current parameter setting will be announced by the voice prompt. Press <SELECT> again to select the parameter among 2, 4, 6 & Toll-saver. LINE OGM PLAYBACK MODE This mode is entered when ANSWER is ON and memory is not full and selected number of rings from an incoming call has been received. When ANNOUNCE ONLY is OFF, the unit will play back OGM 1 to the line once and then enters LINE ICM RECORDING mode. When ANNOUNCE ONLY is ON, the unit will play back OGM 2 once and then release the line without recording. When there are no recorded OGM 1/2, factory preset OGM are played back instead. Factory preset OGM 1 (prompting for incoming call to record): 'Hello! I'm unable to answer your call right now. Please leave your name, number and the message after the tone.' Factory preset OGM 2 (prompting for incoming call to call again later): F: 'Hello! I'm unable to answer your call right now. Please call again. Thank you!' LINE ICM RECORDING MODE If ANNOUNCE ONLY is OFF, then this mode will be entered by: After LINE OGM PLAYBACK MODE, recording will start in mailbox 1 after a beep tone. During LINE OGM PLAYBACK MODE, if [1], [2] or [3] is pressed, then recording start in mailbox 1, 2 or 3 respectively. Voice prompt is 'Mailbox X. Now recording." Before switching to other mailbox to record the messages, the previous message will be kept in the mailbox. If other DTMF is pressed, mailbox selection will be disabled automatically. Also, it cannot select the same mailbox when recording messages except the first time select mailbox 1. If remote side is silent or has hung up, then this mode will be quit after 6 seconds (or less if Forced is connect signal is received). (Remark: Recordings less than 1 second is not stored. Maximum length of each recording is 4 minutes. The maximum number of old & new messages / memos is 99.) LOCAL MEMO RECORDING MODE (MAILBOX x) During IDLE mode, pressing <REC/MEMO> user will hear F/M: ‘Please select mailbox’ and then <MAILBOX x> (x=1,2 or 3) will enter this mode to record in mailbox 1, 2 or 3 via base microphone and user will hear : ‘Now recording’. During recording, the 7-segment will count the recording time in seconds. If it exceeds 99 seconds, it will flash [99]. (Remark: Recordings less than 1 second is not stored. Maximum length of each recording is 4 minutes. ![*5 Help menu *0 Hang up OGM1/2 RECORDING MODE [*7] This mode is entered if [*7] is pressed during REMOTE MAIN MODE. Whether OGM 1 or 2 is recorded will depend on whether ANNOUCE ONLY is OFF or ON respectively. Voice prompt: [*7] > 'Now recording.' MEMO RECORDING MODE (MAILBOX x) [*8] This mode is entered if [*8] is pressed during REMOTE MAIN MODE. The unit will then prompt you to choose a mailbox (1/2/3). By pressing [1], [2] or [3], messages will be recorded to the corresponding ailbox through the line. (Remark: Recordings less than 1 second is not stored. Maximum length of each recording is 4 minutes. The maximum number of old & new messages / memo is 99.) Voice prompt: [*8] > 'Please select mailbox' > pressing [1], [2] or [3] > 'Now recording.' OGM1/2 PLAYBACK MODE [#7] This mode is entered if "#7" is pressed during REMOTE MAIN MODE. Whether OGM 1 or 2 is recorded will depend on whether ANNOUCE ONLY is OFF or ON respectively. MAILBOX 1/2/3 PLAYBACK MODE [#1, #2 or #3] This mode is entered if [#1], [#2] or [#3] is pressed during REMOTE MAIN MODE. Message playback from mailbox 1, 2 or 3 can be achieved respectively. (Remark: If the system remains less than 5 minutes recording time, it will announce the remaining recording time to alert the user after all the new/old messages has been played. For example, if the system is less than 3 minutes, the system will announce F: 'Remaining recording time is 2 minutes' or M: ‘Record time left 2 minutes’. In general, the announcements available are F: 'Remaining recording time is 4/3/2 minutes /1 minute/30 seconds' or M: ‘Record time left 4/3/2 minutes /1 minute/30 seconds’.) Voice prompt: [#X] - 'Mailbox X. You have XX new messages and XX old messages.' (if there are new messages) or 'Mailbox X. You have XX old messages.' (if there are only old messages) or 'Mailbox X. You have no messages.' (if there is no message) VOICE MENU MODE [*5] Press [*5] for voice menu and press [*5] again for next page of voice menu. If you choose to use the Headset option, you must obtain an optional accessory Headset, which is compatible with the ip 5850. To purchase a Headset, call VTECH Customer Service at 1-800-595-9511. Once you have a compatible 2.5mm Headset, locate the Headset Jack on the ip 5850 Handset. Connect the plug on the Headset cord to the jack on the cordless Handset. The plug should fit securely. Do not force the connection. NOTE : Whenever a compatible Headset is connected to the cordless Handset, the microphone on the Handset will be muted.
