The information provided here does not apply tousing any specific software programs. The SRM RFID System uses Texas Instruments Radio Frequency Identification System (TIRIS)technology. It emits low-level radio-frequency energy at 134.2KHz and receives signals fromTIRIS transponders in the same frequency range.OPERATIONThe SRM RFID System is fully installed and configured on delivery. No user installation ortuning is required. Refer to your application software documentation for details on using thesystem. Following are general guidelines:ü The radio does not transmit except when initiated by the user. Read operations can beinitiated by pressing the READ button on the SRM RFID Handle or through applicationsoftware.ü Range is dependent on the relative orientation of the SRM RFID Handle and the transponder.Optimum range (5-6") is achieved when the edge of the RFID tag is visible through theopening in the handle. Range is worst when the tag and the handle are in the same plane.ü To achieve optimum performance, sight the RFID tag through the hole in the handle and holdthe computer so that the handle is less than 6" from the tag.SAFETY INFORMATIONThe Telxon PTC-2234 with SRM RFID System has been investigated by UnderwritersLaboratories for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A,B,C and D Hazardous Locations.
